Kampala, Uganda | THE BLACK EXAMINER | Anderson Hebert Burora, the Deputy Resident City Commissioner (RCC) of Rubaga Division, has cautioned Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine, the President of the opposition National Unity Platform (NUP), against making tribalistic statements during his nationwide mobilization efforts.
Kyagulanyi reportedly made remarks at a rally in Luwero, accusing President Museveni of causing harm to the Baganda people and alleging that a small group of the ruling class had taken vast amounts of land from them.
Burora revealed that the Crime Investigations Directorate (CID) has already asked NUP’s leadership to clarify these statements, which are perceived as divisive.
He advised Kyagulanyi to avoid using the Buganda Kingdom as a tool for his political survival.
Government Spokesperson Ofwono Opondo previously stated that Kyagulanyi’s comments risked provoking his arrest, as they bordered on criminal libel, particularly against President Yoweri Museveni. Kyagulanyi later clarified his statements on social media amid criticism.
