Luwero District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has provided financial assistance to 524 market vendors in Bombo, Luwero District. The business support was distributed to these vendors on October 24, 2023, by State House officials, with Ms. Flora Kabibi leading the effort.
These 524 beneficiaries primarily operate in roadside markets such as Bombo Mile 20 and Nanywa, specializing in the sale of fruits, vegetables, and other food items. Each vendor received Shs100,000.
Ms. Kabibi conveyed to the vendors that President Museveni made this financial gesture to help them maintain their businesses and stabilize their household incomes while they await support from other government development programs like the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga. This direct financial assistance aims to break the cycle of poverty within Ugandan families.
Ms. Kabibi also encouraged the vendors to combat social issues affecting families and emphasized the importance of nurturing responsible citizens among their children to contribute to the country’s development.
She extended gratitude to Ms. Jane Barekye, the State House Comptroller, and Mr. Moses Byaruhanga, the Senior Presidential Advisor in charge of Political Mobilization, for their roles as intermediaries between the President and local communities.
