In justifying his choice, Kanyoma, who previously held the position of FDC’s publicity secretary for Muhokya subcounty, pointed to escalating internal divisions within the party as a major contributing factor. He believes that his contributions have waned in effectiveness amid the current political climate within FDC, a party he once esteemed highly.

Kanyoma’s defection has ignited conversations within the local political sphere. He has urged his former FDC colleagues to contemplate similar shifts, encouraging them to prioritize the community’s interests and align themselves with “more relevant opposition parties for the good of Uganda.”
