Entebbe, Uganda | THE BLACK EXAMINER | The National Unity Platform (NUP) made a startling announcement on Thursday, revealing that their principal, Mr. Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, had been forcibly removed from a plane upon his arrival at Entebbe International Airport. The circumstances surrounding his removal from the aircraft remain shrouded in mystery, and NUP Secretary General, David Lewis Rubongoya, expressed uncertainty regarding Bobi Wine’s current whereabouts.

The tension had been building for some time, as heightened security measures were already in place in Entebbe municipality in anticipation of Bobi Wine’s arrival. Supporters of the NUP had eagerly awaited their leader’s return from his mobilization tours in Canada and South Africa, and this anticipation had created an atmosphere of excitement and concern.

However, the situation took a more ominous turn when the police erected a roadblock at Katabi along the Kampala-Entebbe highway. This roadblock led to significant traffic congestion at Kitubulu, as every passing vehicle was subjected to thorough security checks, resulting in substantial delays for commuters.

One noteworthy incident occurred when a mini-bus headed to Entebbe Airport was intercepted at the Kitubulu checkpoint. Passengers were instructed to disembark for a comprehensive security inspection, highlighting the extensive security measures in place for Bobi Wine’s return.

In related events, Next Media journalists faced arrests and equipment damage at Mpala pay toll. Among those detained were photojournalist, Francis Insano and senior journalist Kitone Julius, both of whom had their equipment vandalized during the incident.
