Wakiso District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | Three children have died when a wall collapsed on them on Friday morning. The incident happened at Nakigalala Village, Kajjansi Town Council, Wakiso District. The deceased have been identified as Sekatawa Daniel, 3; Senabulya Grace aged 1 year 9 months and Nanono Hel Mary aged 2 months.

According to Kampala Metroolitan Police Spokesman Patrick Onyango, a woman identified as Nankyanzi Gorreti, aged 30, was in the house together with her four children and her father, sleeping while heavy rain pounded the wall, causing the wall to fall.

One child was rescued while the three died on spot. Preliminary findings indicate that the wall collapsed due to poor construction of the house. “The house was built using unburnt bricks and the person who did the construction was unqualified,” Onyango said.

By press time, the bodies were taken to the Mulago City Mortuary pending postmortem examination.
