Today, the Kasese Tourism Investors Forum officially launched the highly anticipated 2023 Rwenzori Theluji Festival, an annual tourism event aimed at promoting sustainable tourism investments and enhancing the allure of destination Kasese with a remarkable Rwenzori experience.
Under the theme, “Accelerating sustainable tourism investments in a competitive and globalized marketplace,” the festival promises an array of exciting activities designed to captivate visitors and showcase the beauty of the Rwenzori region. Eng. Rev. Gabriel Fataki, the National Chairperson for the Rwenzori Theluji Festival, shared the event highlights during a press conference held this afternoon at Verina Gardens in Kasese town.
Among the scheduled activities are a community run, aerial tourism, initiatives to conserve and green the Rwenzori ecosystem, cultural biodiversity showcases, business exhibitions, a business summit, and a workshop focused on mindset change. Additionally, there will be a concerted effort to clean towns and cities in the Rwenzori region, as well as the highly anticipated Miss Tourism Rwenzori pageant. The festival, spanning a month-long duration, will commence on August 19, 2023, with the community run, serving as a platform to nurture talent and identify participants ahead of the international marathon.
Mr. Benson Kule Baritazale, Chairperson of the Kasese Tourism Investors Forum, encouraged the local community to seize the business opportunities that will arise from hosting thousands of tourists in Kasese district and the wider Rwenzori region.
