Kampala, Uganda | THE BLACK EXAMINER | Sipapa has been incarcerated for over a year, facing charges of money laundering and fraud, among other offenses. Despite numerous court appearances, it appears that authorities are not inclined to release him on bond.
Amidst this legal situation, President Yoweri Museveni has received an unusual request from Serena Bata, who happens to be Sipapa’s ex-girlfriend. In her plea, she appeals to the President to use his influence to secure Sipapa’s release. She points to their long history together and implores Museveni to come to his aid.
Serena’s plea is straightforward: “Please come out and save Sipapa,” she implores the President, emphasizing the significant support Sipapa has provided to him. Serena also highlights Sipapa’s affiliation with the National Resistance Movement (NRM).
Sipapa’s legal troubles trace back to September 2022 when he was arrested on allegations related to a heist involving 1.6 billion Shillings. The situation surrounding his incarceration remains a contentious issue, with his former girlfriend now seeking presidential intervention.
